About Us
You've been asking questions that the church wouldn't answer.
Maybe you sensed that something was missing: the faith you were handed felt more like obligation than liberation. Maybe the God of the Bible never sat right with you, but you couldn’t say so out loud. Maybe you still feel drawn to Jesus, just not to the institution built around him.
You’re not alone. And you’re not wrong to question.
We are the Monarcs.
We are a community of people who have walked away from religion-as-usual and returned to the actual words of Jesus as they existed before the interpreters, the councils, and Paul’s theology reshaped everything into belief without action.
What we found when we looked closely was striking: Jesus taught that how you treat your neighbour is the path. He did not point to creeds, rituals, or belonging to the right group. Instead, he pointed to the widow who gave everything, the stranger who showed mercy, and the person who toiled quietly for others without expecting a reward.
What we believe
We take seriously the teachings of Jesus as he gave them, including some that mainstream Christianity set aside. We draw on the Gospel of Thomas, the Apocryphon of John, and other early texts alongside the familiar Gospels. We distinguish between the God of the Bible and the Father whom Jesus described as both his origin and ours.
We believe salvation is not a doctrine to accept but a direction to move in: toward your neighbour, toward love in action, toward the light.
Who belongs here
If you’ve left a church but haven’t left Jesus, this is for you.
If you’ve never been religious but you live by love and service, this is for you too.
If you’re still figuring it out, welcome. So are we.
There is no membership requirement. There is no statement of faith to sign. There is only the question Jesus kept returning to: Are you doing it?
The door is open. Come as you are.
